Dr. Kanupriya Tewari or Dr. T loves being an orthodontist and helping patients discover their confidence through their smiles. Dr. T’s interest in healthcare and dentistry had been long established but it was witnessing orthodontics’ ability to improve a patient’s self-perception that crystallized her career objective. She is passionate about technology, lifelong learning and serving her community.
Dr. T graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University in Boston, MA. She then attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for her DMD degree and Orthodontics residency (yay triple jumbos!). She graduated at the top of her dental school class (top 3 out of 200!) and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. During her orthodontic residency she was the first ever recipient of the Russi K. Gheewalla endowed orthodontic scholarship for demonstrating excellence in orthodontics and the Edward G. Austin scholarship for demonstrating exception outreach to her community.
Dr. T was nudged to move to Charlotte, NC because of her husband and she is so glad she made the move! She is excited and humbled to provide orthodontic care to the Charlotte community. Today, Dr. T is beyond thrilled to have her own space to practice orthodontics and take brilliant care of her patients.
Outside of building smiles, Dr. T enjoys reading, cooking, and doing yoga in her free time. She also loves traveling and trying new restaurants with her husband. Most of her free time is honestly spent loving on her mini golden doodle Nova! Dr. T looks forward to welcoming you and your family to her office of Queen City Smiles Orthodontics!
